I was giving my two dogs their morning walk on Monday morning. I came upon a large pick-up truck (bakke) with an animal trailer on the back. As I approached, I saw two animals in the animal trailer. For a second I thought they were big dogs. Then I saw they were goats. My two dogs were very subdued and did not bark at the goats. I thought of my wife's youth in Argentina and her pet goat.
As I approached the cab of the truck, I saw three women inside and two dogs. THey seemed to know Copernicus well. One lady told me that when her female dog came "into heat" she would lock the dog inside the house. When Copernicus was out doing his off-leash walk, he sensed that the female dog was in heat. He would walk up to the door of the house. He would scratch on the door asking to be let in.
What a brave and crazy dog!!
Life takes us in many strange directions and wonderful discoveries. It never turns out the way we thought it would.
