The Ocean Shore Rail Road is a rich part of the San Francisco history. The rail road company was incorporated in 1881. It came on line in 1913 with a line between San Francisco and Santa Cruz. It suffered severe earthquake damage and ceased operations in 1921. The actual tracks were situated on what is now our street. Our dog Copernicus found a rail road spike from this rail road in our back yard. It could easily be 100 years old.
