Dear David:
After our conversation about Justin Trudeau I did further thinking. In a recent poll Angela Merkel came out as the most admired political leader in the world. Justin Trudeau was number 2.
What does this mean to you and all other Canadians? When you go to a foreign country and present your passport, you will get a warm welcome. In the eyes of the rest of the world Canada is a rich country with a wonderful record on human rights that treats women, gays and immigrants decently.
Of course in any country only a minority of people engage in international travel. So what do the rest of Canadians get out of all this adoration for Trudeau. People planning a vacation will look positively on a trip to Canada. This means more tourists and more tourist dollars. When a wealthy individual , company, or investment fund looks at foreign investments, Canada always gets a lot of strong consideration starting with the image projected by Trudeau. When a potential investor starts to do their homework before making investments, Canada looks great with a stable government and legal system, excellent banks, excellent infrastructure, education system, etc. This means more jobs and opportunities for all Canadians.
With kindest regards,
