Avoiding Drowning In A Flooded Car

There is sad news of people in Sonoma County, California, drowning in their autos during yesterday's deluge of water. I pointed out an important safety fact to Elena. I will now share it with you. People drive down the road, and suddenly, their cars are submerged and underwater. The pressure of water makes opening the door and egress from the car impossible. In the past car windows were rolled up and down with manual door handles. Now all cars have electric windows that short out when exposed to large quantities of water. In desperation, the trapped person will attempt to break the window. Unfortunately, the window glass is too strong. One must be thinking fast to survive. The first thing to do is roll down the passenger side window very fast. You can then egress from the car through the open window. You will float to the surface and have a good chance of living
