My Birthday Gift

Elena asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I told her that I needed to think about that one a while. Of course her love is the best gift I can get. But I did decide on Nelson Mandela's new book Conversations With Myself. I lived in South Africa six years and came to admire this man so much for his suffering,decency, and wisdom. It will be a special gift because I will be able to see inside his heart and soul.
