Logevity Among Humans Is Still Alive And Well!!

Longevity is on my mind this morning. Despite all the coronavirus deaths and talks about a shorter life span and declining populations, many strong people are living much longer. My neighbor across the street will celebrate 90 years of life this Monday. A dear swimming friend has a mother who will celebrate "the big 100" early next week. One of our readers, Sara, had a mother-in-law who was with us between 101 and 104 years of age. (In times long ago, births were not recorded formally as they are now in many parts of the world. The family Bible or other religious book was used to record births.

My dear grandmother Sarah Elizabeth passed away in the early 1990s at either 101 years of age or 103 years of age, depending on what family Bible you trusted.) Sara's mother had an incredible life. Let us say that during World War II she was "on the run" from the Nazis. She went to Israel after the war. As we all know, that can be a dangerous place from time to time. She earned a special place in the hearts of Elena and I due to her love of Argentine telenovelas (soap operas.)
