Right next to where we live here in Pacifica sits the small city of South San Francisco. It used to call itself "The Industrial City." I feel that it should be renamed "The Biotechnology City" This small city is packed with many biotechnology companies including Genentech. It has a great downtown with wonderful restaurants and shopping. Elena and I love to go there. It has excellent healthcare facilities. It is full of beautiful homes, apartments, etc.
One would think that being a police officer
in this town would be a boring job. Perhaps there would be a drunk driving
arrest or minor traffic citations to keep officers occupied on their shifts.
I want to compliment the South San
Francisco Police Department. They set up a social media presence on Facebook.
They started to report on the types of cases that officers handled. It is a
huge surprise as to the number of serious crimes that take place. Many felons
are arrested while carrying guns illegally. Burglaries and car break-ins are
common. Home invasions happen. The men and women of this police organization
face danger and do a good job of protecting their community.
