After I finished work and my morning workout at the pool, Elena and I decided to take the day off. We drove to San Mateo. We had lunch at Espetus Churrascaria. This is a Brasilian meat restaurant. Brasilians know these restaurants well. For the rest of you, you are seated at a table and go to the salad bar. Beautiful Brazilian drinks are brought to your table. Then servers come around with skewers of various types of meat. Beautiful Brasilian music played in the background. It brought back so many wonderful memories of the happy times in the 1970s in Rio and Sao Paulo. Afterward, we went to Draeger's for grocery shopping. We rode home with the sun high in the sky and with a beautiful afternoon. The dogs were glad to see us when we returned home. We thought sadly about the 2 million-plus Ukrainian refugees and all the suffering there.
Life takes us in many strange directions and wonderful discoveries. It never turns out the way we thought it would.
