Elena loves obscure foreign movies. Yesterday afternoon, I set her up on The Criterion Channel (www.criterionchannel.com). She found a fascinating Japanese movie. One day you are contacted and given some good and bad news. The bad news is that you're going to pass away in one week. The good news is that you will go to an afterlife (Heaven, etc.) where you will enjoy eternal life and peace. There is one catch to this transition. You will only be able to take one memory from your old life to your new life. The film team interviewed real people and posed the question to them: "What memory will you carry to your new life?" Several of the people were interviewed during the movie. I will leave each of you to reflect on what memory you would take to your next life.
Life takes us in many strange directions and wonderful discoveries. It never turns out the way we thought it would.
