Many of us have heard of "Murphy's Law." It says:
"Anything that can go wrong will
go wrong at the worst possible moment!"
Yesterday morning I drove to the swimming
pool to have my morning workout. I pulled into my parking place. I made an
error that I have made many times before. My front tires went over the parking
barrier. I backed up as I had done many times before. A fluke happened and my
right front tire hit a sharp spot. It holed the tire. I had a flat tire. I
quickly determined that my car did not have a spare tire. My swim friends urged
me to do my workout and then deal with the flat tire. I followed their advice.
After my workout, I called AAA to provide a wrecker to haul my car to a tire
store. I had to do "the 800 number shuffle." I waited 45 minutes for
a wrecker to arrive. The driver was a very competent man. He got my heavy
vehicle loaded. He took me and my Tesla to Pacifica Tire and Service Center. I
got the bad news that the flat tire was a write-off. A defect was detected in
my left front tire. There was a serious chance of a blow-out in that tire. I
had to replace a second tire. This will not be cheap. I go to pick my car up
early this morning.
