Last night Elena and I watched a National Geographic movie called Restrepo. It was a bout a group of soldiers at a forward fire base in Afghanistan. It was well done and brought home to us what the war is all about. Best of all is how they sincerely tried to "win the hearts and minds" of the local people. Two soldiers died during the 15 month tour. One was named Restrepo.
Life takes us in many strange directions and wonderful discoveries. It never turns out the way we thought it would.
