When you work in military intelligence you are trained to look at existing facts and make predictions for your superior officers. I look at the facts for 2012 and I see a very ugly and a dangerous time coming.
John Williams is a Dartmouth graduate (BA and MBA) and a distinguished business analyst. He runs a website called Shadow Government Statistics. I will show you his conclusion on the actual unemployment and inflation rate as follows:
Have you ever wondered why the CPI, GDP and employment numbers run counter to your personal and business experiences? The problem lies in biased and often-manipulated government reporting.
He is telling us that the actual unemployment rate is approaching 25% and the actual inflation rate is close to 8%. This unemployment says that we are in Great Depression 2. The inflation rate says that the government is printing money to cover it all up.

He predicts that we will soon see literally millions of people who have exhausted their unemployment benefits. I would surmise that most of these people have also spent their savings. They will find themselves in the situation of be destitute with little or no hope of any economic future.
I spent 5 years in Brasil where you had an underclass like this. They had never known anything else. That was just the life. The new destitute people in the USA are different. They have known a much nicer life and now it has been taken away from them. They also probably own millions of guns.
We see the Occupy Wall Street movement and the Arab Spring sweeping the world. Add to these protesters an army of millions of unemployed and destitute people with guns. Hundreds of thousands of these people have served in the military and have excellent combat training. Most of them have education and skills. This is the recipe for a lot of violence and what my wife calls a revolution.
Get ready for violence and killing. Get ready for kidnappings. Get ready for destruction. Get ready for violent repression and a loss of civil liberties. Get ready for the reality to hit us all that we are in Great Depression 2. This new depression is going to be far worse than the original one in the 1930's.
I would strongly suggest that you upgrade the security in your house or apartment. Drive an old and humble car. Do not wear flashy watches and the like. Own gold coins and have cash.
I now predict that Romney will be elected president. That will be of little or no consequence to the violent eruption that will unfold.
I'm really a nice person who hates violence and loud noises. I hate to make such a sad prediction.
