Today is a day of reflection. On September 11, 1973, it was a wild morning in Santiago when General Pinochet came to power. On September 11, 1996, I arrived in San Jose,California on a bus from Texas. I was listening to Portuguese music on my radio. Today is 15 years for me in the San Francisco Bay area. On September 11, 1998, 6 US Marshals arrested me at a Mexican restaurant in San Jose's Willow Glen area. I was charged with contempt of court. On September 11, 2001 there was the awful shock of the 9-11 attack. I called Elena and my step son Pedro to make sure they were all right. It is a miracle that Bin Laden did not concentrate that entire attack in Washington ,DC and decapitate the government.
Life takes us in many strange directions and wonderful discoveries. It never turns out the way we thought it would.
